Mazda Celebrates 40th Anniversary Of Wankel Rotary Engine

Mazda has just celebrated the 40th anniversary of the first Mazda Wankel rotary engine powered vehicle. E 'was May 30, 1967, Mazda began selling the world's first dual-rotor RE unit, the Cosmo Sport, and has since produced nearly two million vehicles. The first rotary engine car was the NSU Wankel engine ( now the famous Audi) Wankel Spider, which began in 1964. Other manufacturers such as Mercedes, Rolls-Royce, Norton, Suzuki, General Motors, Citroen, John Deere and Arctic Cat have tried experimenting with the Wankel engine. Some also were able to produce small series of the Wankel engine. However, the only producer of success that has been able to produce the engine designed by German engineer Felix Wankel in quantities is Mazda.By late 1950s, many manufacturers worldwide have devoted considerable resources to research and development of production of rotary engine (RE), but most were delivered because they were not able to overcome the difficult technical challenges that come with technology. It E 'only Mazda persevered and eventually managed to overcome all obstacles and successfully achieved RE mass production. Mazda also was able to introduce other vehicles on the market including the Familia Rotary Coupe, Savanna, RX-7 and Eunos Cosmo. And, of course, you know Mazda have constantly developed the economy and environmental performance of its motor vehicles RE is why they are still on sale today. The creator of the famous steerer Mazda, Mazda began its involvement in the racing world in 1968 after the release of the Cosmo Sport, RE, when the cars started participating in car races. Then in 1991, the Mazda 787B made rotary engine history when it became the only Japanese car ever to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance. Since then over 100 winning Touring Car series in Japan and the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) series in the United States was won by re-equipped racecars. The RX-8 sports car was launched in April 2003 was driven by a new generation of naturally aspirated engines RENESIS newspaper, which is more compact, more powerful and more environmentally friendly than its predecessors. British journal of technology specialist, Engine Technology International has received the most coveted RENESIS International Engine of the Year 2003, premiums for its engine class in 2003 and 2004 to show great respect for this engine. Currently, Mazda is moving forward with the development of the Hydrogen RE, which emits no carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the gases responsible for global warming. Development of the hydrogen RE started in 1991 and has so far led to the development of the RX-8 Hydrogen RE, which in February 2006 became the first hydrogen RE vehicle to ever be hired. There are seven hydrogen RE vehicles that traveled the commercial lease road in Japan. About EngineThe Wankel rotary engine Wankel rotary is a type of internal combustion engine, invented by German engineer Felix Wandel, which uses a rotor instead of reciprocating pistons. Such a design delivers smooth high-rpm power from a compact and lightweight engine.
