The Demise of DEI
The late great Dale Earnhardt would be very unhappy if I could see what has happened to his dream team. The recent announcement that the number eight cars will be parked for lack of sponsorship is nothing less than a total disaster. The story is well known by now. Dale Earnhardt introduced his team to create a platform for the execution of her family and in particular their children to follow like a conductor. At the time of his untimely death, the team seemed to be on land. The success of the next eight the number of cars Junior had more than enough to fuel fan interest. To this end, Dale Earnhardt Jr., became the most popular driver in NASCAR racing. Then everything started to go wrong. Junior found relative success in their first years at DEI. And then he did not. What went wrong is still hard to say. Most people on the side of most popular driver, Junior, and expressed the view that the material was given to drivers was not enough to compete for victory week after week, much less championships. The others took the opposite tack, suggesting that perhaps the drivers were simply not good enough to win championships. As we were to discover later, perhaps these arguments were true. The inevitable division of Junior and Teresa Earnhardt has been tough in this sport. The team that Dale Earnhardt set for their children no longer had children under the name of Earnhardt driving. Many predicted that the team would have fallen on hard times and suggested Teresa Earnhardt made a serious mistake not to work on something with Dale Earnhardt Jr. The recent announcement that the number eight cars will be out for lack of sponsorship appears to be the last nail in the coffin of the DEI - a fruit of that decision. It is a sad day. Note that the Junior has not exactly flourished in the race for Hendrick. Hendrick Motor Racing is generally considered the best team in the league. While his teammates Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon are clearly two of the best drivers in NASCAR, Dale Earnhardt Jr. 's results were no less disappointing. Despite its immense popularity, is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore the fact that the finishes are not as competitive as his teammates estimate. At day's end, it is difficult to find a winner in this situation. Dale Earnhardt vision of having a computer for their children fails. Teresa Earnhardt has been without a team. Not successful in June to talk about Hendrick. In short, everything probably would have worked much better if Junior was simply left on the DEI and Teresa Earnhardt had a little "when it came to issues of ownership. Obviously, it's too late for that. How sad.
